DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (June 4, 2014) – The Mercy College men's soccer team has announced its schedule for the Fall 2014 season. The Mavericks will play a full slate of 17 games, including seven home dates and four games against 2013 NCAA Championship participants.
The Mavericks will open the 2014 schedule at the Adelphi Tournament, where they will face host Adelphi University on Thursday, Sept. 4 and six-time national champion Southern Connecticut State University on Saturday, Sept. 6.
Mercy hosts American International College in the home opener on Wednesday, Sept. 10.
The squad will then travel to defending national champion Southern New Hampshire University on Saturday, Sept. 13 before opening East Coast Conference play at Molloy College on Saturday, Sept. 20.
Philadelphia University and ECC rival the University of Bridgeport come to Dobbs Ferry for a two-game home stand on Wednesday, Sept. 24 and Saturday, Sept. 27. The Mavericks will then pack their bags for a four-game road trip over the next nine days, during which they will face Dominican College (Sept. 30), ECC foes Daemen College (Oct. 3) and Roberts Wesleyan College (Oct. 5), and Nyack College (Oct. 8).
Mercy will close out the season with six straight ECC contests, beginning with home dates versus the University of the District of Columbia on Saturday, Oct. 11 and NYIT on Wednesday, Oct. 15.
The Mavericks will cross the Tappan Zee Bridge to face cross-river rival St. Thomas Aquinas College on Saturday, Oct. 18 before concluding the home schedule playing hosts to a pair of NCAA Championship participants in LIU Post on Saturday, Oct. 25 and Dowling College on Wednesday, Oct. 29. Mercy wraps up the regular season at Queens College on Saturday, Nov. 1.
