Softball Ranked Fourth in First NCAA Regional Rankings

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Apr. 19, 2017) – The Mercy College softball team has been ranked fourth in the first NCAA East Region Rankings, which are used to determine at-large bids for the NCAA Championship.

Eight teams are taken from each region to make up the tournament field. The ECC, CACC and NE-10 conference tournament winners earn automatic bids, leaving five at-large bids into the tournament. Mercy looks to qualify for the program's first-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament and look to make the ECC Tournament for the first time since 2013. The Mavericks are currently 22-8 on the season and are in first place in the ECC with a record of 13-5.

Head Coach Mike Fazio and the Mavericks resume action on Thursday, April 20th when they host Felician at 2:30 p.m.
