Several students from Parkview Elementary School in Stratford, New Jersey, got a view into the world of college life a decade early as they participated in a pen-pal letter writing campaign with members of the Mercy College softball program. Mercy College Director of Athletics Patricia Kennedy announced today that Mike Fazio has been named the head coach for the Mavericks softball program. Fazio takes the reins after a two-year stint as an assistant coach. He will continue to serve as the head mens and womens cross country coach.

May 1, 2010 Mercy Softball Closes Out Season with Split Against Bridgeport
The Mercy College softball team closed out the 2010 campaign by splitting a doubleheader with Bridgeport. The Mavericks (19-27; 8-20 East Coast Conference) lost game one, 6-2, and took the rubber match 14-10. Between games, three Mavericks players were honored for personal milestones.

The Mercy College softball team swept a doubleheader from Wilmington University on Thursday in a pair of games played in Delaware. The scores were 7-2 and 4-0.
April 27, 2010 Mercy Softball Drops Doubleheader at C.W. Post
The Mercy College softball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader at C. W. Post on Tuesday afternoon, 12-4 and 10-0. C. W. Post, the #18 team in the country, is now 38-10 overall, 24-2 in the East Coast Conference, while Mercy is 16-26 overall, 7-19 in the ECC.
April 23, 2010 Softball Drops Doubleheader to Molloy
The Mercy College softball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader to Molloy College on Friday, April 23, 11-0 and 16-0. Molloy, the #4 team in the latest NCAA East Region rankings, improves to 33-11 (16-4 East Coast Conference), while Mercy falls to 16-22 (7-15 ECC).
