The Mercy College womens lacrosse team jumped out of the gate with two goals in the first two minutes of the game today and never looked back, beating Holy Family (Pa.) University 14-5 today in front of 55 fans at Drexel University in Philadelphia. Mercy raises its record to 2-0 in its inaugural season, while HFU falls to 0-1.

On a cold, blustery day in Purchase, N.Y., the Mercy College womens lacrosse program breathed life for the first time, playing the inaugural game of its inaugural season. Led by four goals each from freshmen Marissa Hurley and Jamie McPartland , the Mavericks defeated the Manhattanville Valiants, 16-9, in front of 110 fans at GoValiants.com Field.

February 8, 2010 Finding a New Home
With the end of another week comes more progress for our inaugural team. Besides the constant improvement on the fundamentals, we expanded a bit as well. Joining our roster were Dana Harjus, Kassie Phillips, and Rachel Ferri. Out of the three, Danas the only one with prior lacrosse experience and has already made an impact in our lineup. Kassie and Rachel, though, are making huge strides and will definitely challenge those with experience for time on the field.
