Five From Women's Lacrosse Represent United States in the Prague Cup Tour 2017

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (June 26, 2017) – Mercy College women's lacrosse student-athletes Grace Davidson and Talia Stagnitta along with 2017 graduates Jillian Rocco, Alexa Haines and Melissa DellaRocca played for Team AIST (American International Sports Teams), representing the United States in the Prague Cup Tour 2017.

Since 2002, AIST has been traveling the world with select players from across the country to competing in a variety of sports. The selection process is based on recommendations from coaches as well as statistical leaders from around the nation at all levels of college play.

The team went 4-0-1 in pool play, defeating the Great Britain National Team, a German club team, the Austrian National Team, a Czech club team and tied the Czech National Team. The team went on to lose in the Gold Medal Qualifier to the other USA team and lost in the Bronze Medal Game to the Netherlands National Team.

The student-athletes also went on tours of the Dachau Concentration Camp in Munich and the Olympic Stadium where the 1972 Olympics took place before heading to Prague for a guided walking tour of Prague.

Rocco went 10-3 this season for the Mavericks with a .522 save percentage and 6.36 goals against average in 19 games played. Haines tied for the team lead with 78 points on 45 goals and 33 assists and was a Second Team All-ECC selection. DellaRocca concluded her career in 2017 with 33 caused turnovers and 15 ground balls in 19 games, ending up as a Second Team All-ECC selection. Davidson was a First Team All-ECC recipient and Third Team All-East Region selection and ended the season with 70 points on 57 goals and 13 assists. Stagnitta was a First Team All-ECC selection, Second Team All-East Region recipient and Third Team All-American after leading the team with 70 ground balls and 39 caused turnovers.
