Akers concluded her career with a strong month of May, hitting a team-high .400 with six hits. The senior had a team-high five runs and three doubles and also had one RBI and a stolen base. The center fielder played a key role in the Mavericks securing their first ECC Championship berth since 2018. Akers recorded a hit in five of the six games she played in during the month. The senior opened the month with three runs and two hits in the doubleheader at Molloy on May 2nd. Akers then went 1-for-1 with a run in the Mavericks game one win over Queens on May 4th. The senior ended the season going 3-for-8 with a run and an RBI in Mercy’s three-game ECC Championship series with Bridgeport on May 7th and 8th.
