Gonzalez began the 2023 season with a strong month of September, helping lead the Mavericks to a 6-2 record during the month. The senior helped lead the Mavericks to their first 5-0 start since 2001 with her team-high 281 assists and 10.04 assists per set. The setter was named to the ECC Honor Roll three times during the month and led the ECC in assists per set. Gonzalez also had 52 digs and 15 aces during the month with 19 kills. She opened the month with 22 assists and four digs in the win over Goldey-Beacom on September 5th before posting 24 assists, five kills and five digs in the win over Caldwell on September 8th. The setter then had 42 assists, four kills, seven aces and eight digs in the win over Southern Connecticut State on September 12th. Gonzalez added 32 assists and five digs in the win at Dominican on September 15th before netting 37 assists and four digs at Adelphi on September 20th. The native of Puerto Rico recorded back-to-back double-doubles to open ECC play against Roberts Wesleyan and Molloy. She had a month-high 47 assists and 12 digs in the win at Roberts Wesleyan on September 24th and had 39 assists and 10 digs in the win at Molloy on September 27th. Gonzalez ended the month with 38 assists and four digs at Queens on September 30th.
