Mercy University Athletics

Jordan Levine was named Associate Director of Athletics and Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach on Monday, July 23, 2012, after serving as the Assistant A.D. and Assistant Men’s Lacrosse Coach since 2008.  In addition to his duties with men's lacrosse, Levine also coordinates the department's recruiting operations, including NCAA reporting, managing National Letters of Intent and budgets. Levine also serves as a liaison between athletics and residential life, admissions, PACT and financial aid.

In 10 years at the helm of the men's lacrosse program, Levine has led the Mavericks to new heights. He has coached a total of 66 ECC All-Conference selections, 23 USILA All-Americans, two USILA Academic All-Americans and one CoSIDA Academic All-American.

The 2022 season was a historic one for the Mavericks under Levine. Mercy advanced to their first-ever National Championship Game under the direction of Levine, ending the season 16-2. The Mavericks won their third straight ECC Championship and earned their third straight NCAA Tournament appearance. Mercy ended the season ranked a program-best No. 2 nationally and Levine was named ECC Coach of the Year for the fifth time. Under Levine's tutelage, the Mavericks had a school-record 10 USILA All-Americans and 11 All-ECC selections. 

During the 2021 season, Levine led the Mavericks to a 9-1 record and was named ECC Coach of the Year after the Mavericks won their second ECC Regular Season and Tournament Championships. Mercy qualified for the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year and defeated #3 Mercyhurst on April 13th. Under Levine's tutelage, the Mavericks had nine All-ECC performers, 10 USILA All-Region performers and a school-record seven USILA All-Americans. 

In 2020, Levine led the Mavericks to a 5-1 record with the season shortened due to COVID-19. The season was highlighted by a 9-6 win over No. 7 Pace on March 7th and a 12-11 overtime win over RV Bentley on March 10th. Mercy started the season ranked No. 10 nationally in the USILA Poll and were ranked No. 8 nationally in the final USILA Poll released. Under the guidance of Levine, sophomore Brady Kearnan was named a Second Team All-American by Inside Lacrosse.

The 2019 season proved to be a historic one for the Mavericks under the leadership of Levine. Mercy went 18-2 setting a new program record in wins and ended the season ranked a program-best No. 6 nationally in the USILA Poll. The Mavericks secured their first-ever ECC Regular Season Championship and their first-ever ECC Tournament Championship. Levine was named ECC Coach of the Year and led the Mavericks to the NCAA Tournament for the first time where they earned their first-ever win over Seton Hill to advance to the Quarterfinals for the first time. Mercy defeated perennial national power No. 2 Le Moyne early in the season, earning their highest ranked win in program history. The Mavericks reached a program-best ranking of No. 3 in the USILA poll during the season and had ten All-Conference selections and a program-best four USILA All-American honorees. 

In 2018, Levine guided the Mavericks to a 10-5 finish ending the season ranked No. 18 in the USILA Coaches Poll. Mercy qualified for the ECC Tournament for the fourth straight year and had eight named to the All-ECC Teams, led by Ryan Gibbons who was tabbed Co-Goalkeeper of the Year. The Mavericks also had six All-ECAC selections and Ryan MacSpadyen and Max Littleton were named All-Americans by the USILA. Under Levine, the team also excelled in the classroom, earning the ECC Academic Award of Excellence for the third time in four years and MacSpadyen and Chris Martinez were named USILA Academic All-Americans. 

The 2017 season proved to be a historic one for the Mavericks and Levine as Mercy won a school-record 12 games and qualified for the ECC Playoffs for the third straight year. Under the guidance of Levine, the Mavericks had a school-record ten ECC All-Conference selections, highlighted by Tommy McPartland being named ECC and ECAC Rookie of the Year and Max Littleton being selected Co-Defensive Player of the Year. Levine was also named ECC Coach of the Year after the Mavericks went 7-1 in ECC play and earned the No. 2 seed for the first time in the ECC Playoffs. Mercy earned their first-ever win in the playoffs and played in the championship game for the first time. The Mavericks were nationally ranked every week and ended the season with a No. 13 national ranking.

In 2016, the Mavericks qualified for their second consecutive ECC Playoff appearance and the team received a No. 13 season-ending national ranking. Under the tutelage of Levine, the Mavericks received five All-Conference selections and an ECC Rookie of the Year.

In 2015, the Mavericks reached the ECC playoffs for the first time in program history as a No. 3 seed and were ranked as high as No. 10 nationally, ending the season ranked No. 14. Under the leadership of Levine, who was voted the 2015 ECC Coach of the Year, Mercy received a program best six All-Conference honorees and had two student-athletes named to the ECAC Division II All-Star Second Team. The team also earned the college’s first-ever ECC Academic Award of Excellence for having the highest GPA in the sport of men’s lacrosse.

The 2014 squad set a number of program records, including goals scored and ground balls, while attackman Jesse Wood led the nation in points and points per game. In 2013, the Mavericks tied a program record with 11 wins and finished with four All-Conference selections. Levine's three-year tenure as an assistant coach, which began in the program's inaugural season, saw the team attain its first-ever national ranking in 2011 with multiple players receiving All-Conference and All-America honors.

Prior to beginning his professional career, Levine was a standout at the University of Albany, where he was a three-time America East All-Conference First Team member. He helped his team earn a bid to the NCAA Division I Tournament in 2005 and 2007, where the Great Danes upended perennial power Loyola (Md.) in the first round.   Levine was named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) All-America Second Team as a junior and capped his collegiate career by earning USILA All-America Honorable Mention accolades as a senior.  

Levine went on to compete in Major League Lacrosse for five seasons as a first-round draft pick by the New Jersey Pride in 2008. Levine was a member of the 2009 World Champion Toronto Nationals and was selected to the MLL All-Star Game in 2009 and 2011. Levine also competed in the National Lacrosse League for three seasons as a member of the Philadelphia Wings.

Levine graduated from Manhattanville College with a master of science degree in sport business management in 2012 after earning his bachelor of arts degree in history with a minor in English from Albany.

A Bethpage, Long Island native, Levine resides in Nyack, N.Y. with his wife, Francesca, their two sons, Jackson and Brodie and daughter Bailey.
