NYACK, N.Y.  – The Mercy College volleyball team fell to the Nyack Warriors in five games (25-15, 21-25, 17-25, 25-16, 9-15) on Tuesday night at the Bowman Center. With the loss, the Mavericks went 1-1 in their men's soccer-volleyball double header at Nyack College.

Mercy volleyball's record falls to 0-6 on the season, while Nyack posted its first win of the season and is 1-2.

The Mavericks took the first game 25-15, as they jumped ahead in the early frames and never looked back as Nyack trailed the entire game. The Warriors took the next two to take a one-game lead over Mercy with close scores of 25-21 and 25-17. Mercy tied it up at 2-2 in the next game, and it looked as if the Mavericks would seal the deal on a win jumping out to a 5-2 lead in the final set. The Warriors came back and led 13-6 before finishing with a score of 15-9.

Maverick senior Diana Bruzzone (Guayaquil, Ecuador) led the way for Mercy with an overall performance of nine kills, 13 digs and three assists. Junior Shedeiky Hamilton (Yallahs, Jamaica) led the offense with 14 kills.
