Mercy Volleyball Goes 0-2 At Southern
Connecticut State
Bridgette Pennelle adds 15
more assists to her season tally.
NEW HAVEN, Conn.
– The Mercy College volleyball team fell to 0-8
after a long Saturday double header at Southern Connecticut State.
The first match against the host school was forfeited and the
undefeated Owls went 3-0 over the Mavericks. In the second match
against Georgian Court, Mercy fell 1-3 (5-25, 25-18, 11-25, 14-25)
to close out the weekend.
Sophomore setter Bridgette
Pennelle (Hawthorne, N.Y.) added 15 more assists to her
season total. Pennelle also had six digs and two block assists to
add to the Mavericks' efforts.
Junior middle hitter Shedeiky
Hamilton (Yullahs, Jamaica) added 12 digs and seven kills
in the four games played, while senior Sasha Atkins (Bronx,
N.Y.) led the team in kills with eight. Atkins also led
the team blocks with four assisted and two solo.
Mercy will be back in action on
Tuesday, September 22 for a road game at conference-foe Molloy.
First serve is set for 7 p.m.
