Mavericks Volleyball Loses In Three At Dowling
Rebecca Lynch tallies second
double-digit assist match in two days.
OAKDALE, N.Y. –
Despite the double-digit assist effort by rookie Rebecca
Lynch (Oceanside, N.Y.), the Mercy College volleyball team
lost its second-straight conference game 0-3 (9-25, 16-25, 16-25)
to the Dowling Golden Lions, Thursday night at the Dowling
Gymnasium.
With the loss, the Mavericks fall to
0-10 overall and 0-2 in the East Coast Conference. Dowling improved
their overall record to 9-4 and are undefeated at 2-0 in the ECC.
Lynch tallied 11 assists in the
three-set loss, her second double-assist performance of the week.
On Tuesday, at Molloy, Lynch helped set up 27 points to make her
week and conference total 38.
Maverick junior Shedeiky
Hamilton (Yallahs, Jamaica) scored a team high seven kills
and a .538 kill percentage. Senior Sasha Atkins (Bronx,
N.Y.) had the team's second highest kills with four.
For the Golden Lions, Patrycja
Klekotka (Siedlce, Poland) had a team high 13 service aces, which
helped keep the advantage with Dowling for most the match.
The Mavericks will continue their
month-long road trip with a tri-match hosted at Post University in
the Drubner Center. Mercy College will play Wilmington (Del.) at 3
p.m., followed by a match against host school Post University at 5
p.m.
