Conn./Danbury) responded with a thundering kill to cut
the lead to 19-16. With the score 23-19 in favor of Molloy, the

Molloy took the 1-0 advantage. In that first set, freshman Nicolette Gebhardt (Middletown, N.Y./Pine

Riding on that momentum, the Lions roared out to a 7-2 lead in
the second set. Molloy continued to press the Mavericks, extending
the lead to 12-4, and eventually 23-7, thanks to an 11-1 run. A 5-0
Mercy rally would not be enough, and Molloy claimed the set
25-12.
In the third set, the Mavericks opened up a 3-0 lead, only to
have Molloy knot the score at 6-6. An 11-2 run quickly set the
tone, and the Lions cruised to the 25-16 win.
