Four Game Win Streak Snapped for Mercy Women's Soccer

Mercy College women's soccer had its four-game winning streak snapped on Thursday afternoon, dropping a 4-0, non-conference match at Wilmington (Del.) University. Mercy falls to 6-7 overall, while the Wilmington increases to 11-3.

Wilmington, the #10 ranked team in the East Region, jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in just the game's third minute. The Wildcats would score three more goals, all in the first half.

Mercy managed to out-shoot Wilmington 11-8, and the Mavericks held a 4-0 advantage in corner kicks.

Mercy returns to action on Saturday, October 23, hosting CW Post at noon on Founders' Day. Mercy will also be celebrating Pink Weeks, raising funds and awareness for breast cancer research.
