Baseball Drops Rain-Shortened Affair With Nyack

The Mercy College baseball team dropped a rain-shortened 2-1
decision to Nyack College on Thursday in Fort Pierce, Florida. The
second game of the doubleheader was cancelled. Mercy drops to 3-3
on the season.
Senior Vinny Tesoriero (Glen Head,
N.Y./North Shore) had a run-scoring single in the top of the first
as the Mavericks took the early lead. But a pair of unearned runs
for Nyack in the bottom of the inning saddled freshman Tommy Cummings (Coatesville,
Pa./Bishop Shanahan) with the loss. Cummings threw four innings,
scattering three hits.
Mercy hopes to return to action on Friday, March 12, with a
doubleheader against Chestnut Hill.
