Mercy Field Hockey Falls to Drew University

The Mercy College field hockey team dropped its third consecutive decision, falling to Drew University 5-0 on Saturday afternoon. Mercy falls to 0-3 in its inaugural season, while Drew improves to 2-1.

In a game played in Madison, N.J., Drew took command of the game early and never let go. Drew scored two goals in the first half, then three in the second.

Leading Drew was Kati Eggert, who scored all three of her goals in the second stanza.

For Mercy, Kristen Znaniecki (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y./Comsewogue) made 13 saves in goal.

The Mavericks return to action next weekend, with a trip to Maine to face Thomas University and Maine-Farmington.
