The Mercy College field hockey ran its record to 0-4 today, falling to Thomas (Maine) College by a 4-1 score. In a game played in Waterville, Maine, freshman Kristen Sliman (Brewster, N.Y./Brewster) scored the first goal in the program's history.

Thomas (2-3) scored in just the fourth minute of the game on a penalty corner, and controlled the tempo for the first half. The second Terriers goal came on a corner as well, this time on the waning moments of the half.

In the second half, Thomas would extend its lead to 4-0 as both Ally Kennedy and Kristin Masessa scored their second goals of the game with only 15 minutes remaining.

At the 66:14 mark, Kristen Sliman was able to put a shot passed the Thomas keeper for the historic goal.

Mercy completes its two-day trip to Maine with an 11:00 a.m. contest at Maine-Farmington on Saturday.
