Mercy Volleyball Falls at St. Rose 3-0
Box Score The Mercy College volleyball program lost a tough 3-0 match
today
at the College of St. Rose. Game scores were 25-21, 25-22, and
25-20. Mercy evens its record at 3-3, while St. Rose jumps to
2-8.
In the first set, the score was tied at 21-21 when four straight
attack errors doomed the Mavericks. In the second set, Mercy
rallied from a 19-10 deficit to knot the score at 20 apiece. The
Mavericks would not be able to gain the lead, and St. Rose held on
for the 25-22 win. Set number three was more of the same. With the
score tied at 18, the Golden Knights put the hammer down and won
25-20.
For the day, Nicolette Gebhardt (Middletown, N.Y./Pine
Bush) led Mercy with a game-high ten kills and a
team-high six digs. Sophomore Kassy Phillips (Marcellus,
N.Y./Marcellus) added nine assists and three digs,
while classmate Rebecca Lynch (Oceanside,
N.Y./Oceanside) had an even five assists and five
digs.
Mercy has a quick turnaround, and will host Le Moyne College
tomorrow, Sunday, September 19, at 4:00 p.m.
