Mercy Women's Soccer Drops 1-0 Decision at Bridgeport

The Mercy College women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision at the University of Bridgeport this afternoon. UB scored the game's lone goal in the 37th minute to advance to 5-2 on the season, including 1-1 in the East Coast Conference. Mercy is now 2-4 overall, and 0-2 in the ECC.

Bridgeport scored the game's only goal at the 36:06 mark of the first half, as Katie Stanley scored on a penalty kick.

Mercy had several scoring opportunities throughout the game, but could not break through. Junior Jamie Sabel (Pewaukee, Wisc./ Kickapoo (MO)) had three of Mercy's seven shots. Keeper Stephanie DiLegge (Bay Shore, N.Y./Bay Shore) made five of her eight saves in first half.

Mercy hosts Caldwell in a non-conference matchup this Thursday, Sept. 30, at 3:00 p.m.
