Mercy Men's Basketball Loses at C.W. Post

The C.W. Post men's basketball team shot 53% and out-rebounded Mercy College 44-29, and beat the Mavericks 98-64 on Thursday evening. The game was originally to have been played a night ago, but was rescheduled due to the snow storm.

The game was tight through the first ten minutes, with the Pioneers (9-6, 6-2 East Coast Conference) holding a slim 18-15 lead. C.W. Post led by as many as eight, but held a seven point, 43-36, lead at the half. Senior Manny Garcia (Bronx, N.Y./Cardinal Spellman) had 12 of his 16 points in the first 20 minutes.

In the second half, Mercy (0-13, 0-8 ECC) could not get on track, and C.W. Post ran away with the win.

Senior Ed Wilson (Bronx, N.Y./Msgr. Scanlan) managed ten points and five assists for Mercy.

Mercy returns to action on Saturday, January 15, hosting the University of Bridgeport at 3:00 p.m.
