Jasmine Williams Named to ECC Player of the Week Honor Roll
CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Nov. 22, 2011) – Senior Jasmine Williams (Stratford, Conn.), a forward on the Mercy College women's basketball team, was named to the East Coast Conference Player of the Week Honor Roll for Week Two. Williams recorded a triple-double in the Mavericks' home-opener, a tough 74-69 loss to Philadelphia University.
Williams poured in 26 points, grabbed 14 rebounds and made 10 steals to accomplish the rare feat after managing four double-doubles over her previous three seasons at Mercy. The 26 points bested her previous career high of 25 and the 10 steals were four more than her previous best, both set last year against Georgian Court University, which Mercy will play tonight.
Head Coach Kelli Dunlay will lead Williams and her fellow Mavericks (0-3) against Georgian Court (0-2) tonight at 5:30 p.m. in the Mercy Gymnasium.
