Mercy Baseball Returns to Winning Ways, Beats Nyack 7-5

The Mercy College baseball team snapped a two-game slide, defeating Nyack College 7-5, in a game played in Fort Pierce, Fla.

Senior Keith Kreig (City Island, N.Y./Mt. St. Michael) started for the Mavericks (3-6), and threw 5.2 innings, earning the win. Classmate Steve Marsar (Seaford, N.Y./Holy Trinity) threw a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save.

Sophomore Andrew Bock (Malverne, N.Y./Valley Stream North) and senior Michael Ferrante (Long Beach, N.Y./Long Beach) each had a pair of base hits and an RBI.

Mercy has a day off before playing the University of New Haven on Monday, March14, at Lynn University, in Boca Raton, Fla.
