Mercy Softball Splits Doubleheader with Post University
The Mercy College softball team split a doubleheader on Tuesday
with Post University, dropping Game 1, 8-2, before taking Game 2,
6-1. The games were played at the Rock in Chester, N.Y.
In the opener, freshman Tayla Gardner (Orangeburg, N.Y./Tappan
Zee) took the loss. Senior Chelsea Methot (Bristol,
Conn./Central) hit a pair of solo home runs for both
Maverick runs.
In the nightcap, freshman Mary Sieber (Massapequa,
N.Y./Massapequa) threw 6.2 innings of shutout ball to
earn the win. Methot continued her torrid day, hitting another
homerun, her third of the day.
Mercy (3-6) returns to action tomorrow, Wednesday, March 16, at
Bloomfield.
