Baseball Drops a Pair of Games to #6 Franklin Pierce

The Mercy College baseball team dropped a doubleheader to Franklin Pierce on Friday, losing 9-0 and 9-1. FPU, the #6 ranked team in the nation, is 4-0, while Mercy drops to 1-4.

In Game One, the Mavericks managed just two hits, while striking out 11 times. Junior Billy Dring (Mahopac, N.Y./Lakeland) threw 4+ innings and took the loss.

In Game Two, freshman Ken Post (Closter, N.J./St. Joseph's) connected for a pair of hits, and drove home the only run for the home team. Junior Charles Dehart (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Peter's Boys) was saddled with the loss, allowing four runs in three innings.

Mercy now takes a break from playing games in the cold, and will not compete until heading to Fort Pierce, Fla., next week. On Thursday, March 10, the Mavericks will face Pitt-Johnstown at 7:00 p.m.
