Maverick Nine Upend CW Post, 7-4
The Mercy College baseball team (13-17; 6-9 ECC) scored four
runs in the bottom of the fourth inning and cruised to a 7-4 win
over C.W. Post (7-26; 5-9 ECC) in East Coast Conference action on
Wednesday afternoon.
Junior Tyler Savin (Wantagh, N.Y./MacArthur)
started and threw eight strong innings. He allowed four runs on
seven hits and struck out five Pioneers.
Freshman catcher John Casten (Valley Central, N.Y./ Valley
Central) went two-for-two on the day with three RBI
and one run scored, while sophomore Andrew Bock (Malverne, N.Y./Valley Stream
North) went two-for-four with one RBI and three runs
scored.
The Mavericks will continue their five-game series with C.W.
Post tomorrow, April 21, at C.W. Post.
