Mercy Baseball Falls to Queens, 3-1
The Mercy College baseball team dropped a 3-1 decision on Wednesday at Queens College. Despite the location, Mercy was the home team.
Freshman John Tricario (New City, N.Y./Clarkstown South) allowed three runs on nine hits through 6.2 innings, suffering the loss. Senior Steve Marsar (Seaford, N.Y./Holy Trinity) finished the nine inning game, scattering two hits.
Mercy (15-19, 8-11) had four hits in the game, two of which came in the first inning. Senior Graig Lauricella (North Massapequa, N.Y./Plainedge) doubled to lead off the inning, and came around to score on a two-out single by freshman Anthony Simon (Sloatsburg, N.Y./Suffern).
Mercy returns to play on Thursday, travelling to St. Thomas Aquinas for a single game.
