The Mercy College softball opened up a barrage against the University of Bridgeport, sweeping a doubleheader 13-0, and 11-2. Both games were shortened to five innings due to the extent of Mercy lead.

Mercy has now won three straight, and four of its last five games. For the season, the Mavericks are 10-13 overall, and 4-3 in the East Coast Conference. UB has now dropped eleven straight to fall to 5-17, including 0-8 in the ECC.

It was a record-setting day for two Maverick seniors, with both Krissy Lacik (Edison, N.J./Edison) and Stephanie Owsiany (Edison, N.J./Edison) reaching the 100-hit mark.

Additionally, classmate Chelsea Methot (Bristol, Conn./Central) knocked home her 100th RBI.

Mercy returns to action on Saturday, at Queens College.
