The Mercy College baseball team dropped a doubleheader at C. W. Post on Monday, 5-1 and 6-4. Mercy has now completed the season with a 17-28 record, including a 10-20 mark in the ECC.

In Game One, senior Mike Ferrante (Long Beach, N.Y./Long Beach) had three hits, but it was junior Mike Gianzero (Highland Mills, N.Y./Monroe-Woodbury) who drove him home in the sixth inning for the Mavericks' only run.  Junior Tyler Savin (Wantagh, N.Y./MacArthur/Nassau CC) took the loss, allowing all five Pioneer runs in the fourth inning.

In the finale, the Mavericks rallied in the top of the ninth for three runs, but it would not be enough. Senior Matt Walsh (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Peter's Boys) and sophomore Andrew Bock (Malverne, N.Y./Valley Stream North) each had two hits and two RBI. Four different pitchers threw during the game.
