Women's Soccer Shut Down by No. 9 Saint Rose, 8-0
Box Score ALBANY, N.Y. (Sept. 27, 2011) - On Tuesday evening, the Mercy College women's soccer team was shutout by the ninth-ranked College of Saint Rose, 8-0 in Albany, N.Y. With the win, the Golden Knights improved to 9-0-1 overall. Following the defeat, the Mavericks dropped to 1-7 on the year.
Mercy allowed four goals in each half to Saint Rose with the first tally coming at 4:27. Both the Mavericks' offense and defense struggled to find a rhythm and tempo against the nationally ranked Golden Knights squad.
In goal, freshman Krystal Guerrero (East Meadow, N.Y.) stopped eight shots.
Head Coach Jonathan Feinstein and the Mavericks return to action on Saturday when they host East Coast Conference-foe St. Thomas Aquinas College. Kickoff is slated for 12:00 p.m.
