Field Hockey Squares Off Against LIU Post
Box Score BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Oct. 11, 2012) - On Thursday afternoon, the Mercy College field hockey team played LIU Post in Brookville, N.Y., but stumbled and lost 5-0 to the Pioneers. Between the pipes, though, junior goalkeeper Kristen Znaniecki (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) made a stellar 16 saves. With the victory, the Pioneers evened their ledger to 7-7. With the loss, the Mavericks dropped to 1-11 overall.
All five of LIU Post's goals were recorded by Carlee Dragon. Three were scored in the first half, while the other two were notched in the second period.
Head Coach Kayte Kinsley and her squad return to the turf on Sunday when the Mavericks host Bellarmine University. Game time is slated for 1:00 p.m. in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.
