Women's Soccer Battles Bridgeport in ECC Melee
Box Score DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Oct. 20, 2012) - On Saturday afternoon, the Mercy College women's soccer team competed in East Coast Conference play versus the University of Bridgeport in Bridgeport, Conn. The Purple Knights defeated the Mavericks by a final score of 2-0. With the win, Bridgeport improved to 9-4-2 overall and 6-1 in the ECC. Following the loss, Mercy slipped to 4-12 on the year and 1-6 in the league.
Julia Colley scored Bridgeport's first goal in the 11th minute. It was assisted by Stephanie D'Andrea. The Purple Knights then tallied their second marker of the day off a goal by Asia Pulse, which was assited by Rachel O'Sullivan in the 57th minute.
In net for the Mavericks, senior goalkeeper Stephanie DiLegge (Bay Shore, N.Y.) made five saves.
Head Coach Jonathan Feinstein and the Mavericks return to action on Wednesday when they host Philadelphia University at 3:00 p.m. Before this contest, the women's soccer program will honor its seniors and their contributions to Mercy over the past few years.
