BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Feb. 8, 2012) – On Wednesday night, the Mercy College men's basketball team fell in East Coast Conference action to league juggernaut C.W. Post, 98-67, at the Pratt Recreation Center in Brookville, N.Y. Following the win, the Pioneers improved to 16-5 on the year (10-1 ECC), while the Mavericks slipped to 3-19 overall (2-10 ECC).

As tough as C.W. Post has played its opponents this year, Mercy stuck with the Pioneers through the first eight minutes of the ball game. Down just six with 12:26 left in the opening stanza, C.W. Post found a hot streak and fired off a 10-3 run over the next four minutes to take a 28-17 advantage.

The Pioneers piled on some cushion points as the half came to an end, but Mercy was able to bring the deficit back down to 12 points (44-32).

Over the first five minutes of the second half, C.W. Post recorded a 17-5 run and never looked back. Mercy could not piece any type of runs of its own together and eventually lost, 98-67.

For the Mavericks, junior guard Colin Senior (Hackensack, N.J.), fresh off his selection to the ECC Player of the Week Honor Roll, scored 13 points, while senior forward Kortney Parker (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) had 11.

The Pioneers had multiple players in double-digits points as Stefan Bonneau led the game with 21 and Tobin Carberry was just shy of tying that as he netted 20. Vince Rosario had 19 off the bench for the hosts.

Head Coach Adam Parmenter and the Mavericks return to action next Wednesday, Feb. 15 when they welcome the University of D.C. to Dobbs Ferry. The opening tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. LiveStats will be available through the team's schedule page on the website.
