Znaniecki, Tworkowski Team Up For 12 Saves Against Manhattanville
Box Score PURCHASE, N.Y. (Sept. 4, 2012) - The Mercy College field hockey team received stellar goalkeeper performances from sophomore Kristen Znaniecki (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) and freshman Jacque Tworkowski (South Berwick, Maine) as the two combined for 12 saves in a 4-0 loss to Manhattanville College in Purchase, N.Y.
The Valiants scored in 13th, 21st and 32nd minutes to take a 3-0 lead into halftime. The hosts were able to net another goal in the second period for the 4-0 victory.
Offensively, sophomore Yolie Nyero (Carlisle, Pa.) had two shots on goal. Defensively, three team saves brought up the total to 15 on the day.
Head Coach Kayte Kinsley and her squad return to the field on Friday when they play Slippery Rock University at 6:00 p.m.
