After Lightning Cancellation Yesterday, Field Hockey Battled Lindenwood Today
Box Score SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. (Sept. 8, 2012) - On Saturday afternoon, the Mercy College field hockey team squared off against Lindenwood University at Slippery Rock University. Mercy fell, 6-0, despite junior goalkeeper Kristen Znaniecki (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) making nine saves.
Lindenwood improved to 2-2 overall, while Mercy slipped to 0-4 on the year.
Junior forward Nicole Bencsik (Telford, Pa.) had two shots on goal for the Mavericks. In addition to Znaniecki's nine saves between the pipes, Mercy recorded a pair of team saves.
Head Coach Kayte Kinsley and the Mavericks return to action on Friday, Sept. 14 when they play at Vassar College. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m.
