ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. (Jan. 23, 2013) – Senior forward MarQuesha Moore (Bryans Road, Md.) fell just short of a third double-double this season as the Mercy College women's basketball team took on East Coast Conference rival Molloy College on Wednesday night.

The Mavericks stuck close early but a 17-2 run pushed the Lions well ahead.  Molloy added 10 unanswered points before freshman guard Danielle Losee (Merrick, N.Y.) hit a three-pointer to cut the deficit back under 20 just before halftime.  The Lions put up another 10 straight points early in the second half to go up by 26 points before a late Mercy 15-5 run closed things out, 70-53.

Molloy improved to 7-9 overall and 3-5 in the ECC while Mercy dropped to 0-16 (0-8).

Moore led the Mavericks with 12 points and eight rebounds while Losee went 2-4 from beyond the arc and junior guard Alexis Monserrate (Locust Valley, N.Y.) led the team with four steals in just 15 minutes on the court.

Senior guard Ashley Addison (East Hanover, N.J.) led the Lions with 19 points, including going 3-3 from three-point range, as senior guard Christine Marra (Dix Hills, N.Y.) and freshman forward Kimani Jackson (Dix Hills, N.Y.) also scored in double digits with 12 and 10 points, respectively, despite playing just 31 combined minutes.  Freshman guard Alex Hampton (Baldwin, N.Y.) dished out nine assists and made four steals while freshman guard Alexia O'Connor (Centerport, N.Y.) pulled down seven rebounds off the bench and senior forward Ikema Ross (East Patchogue, N.Y.) grabbed six in just nine minutes on the floor.

Head Coach Rashidi Aikens and the Mavericks will host Queens College (6-9, 3-5) on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 1:00 p.m.  Please note that this being a home date for the Mavericks is a departure from the original schedule, as the teams swapped dates back in early December.
