CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Oct. 15, 2013) – Mercy College volleyball senior Nicolette Gebhardt (Bloomingburg, N.Y. / Pine Bush) and junior Brenna White (Gardnerville, Nev. / Douglas) have been named to the East Coast Conference Player of the Week Honor Roll for Week Six.

Gebhardt returned from a two-week injury hiatus to post dominant back-to-back double-digit kill performances, averaging 3.44 kills per set over two matches.  She smacked 18 kills on a .405 hitting percentage in the 3-1 win over new ECC foe Daemen College on Friday and added 13 kills on a .243 hitting percentage in the five-set thriller versus Roberts Wesleyan College less than 15 hours later.  The veteran added seven digs and two total blocks as the Mavericks split the two matches.

White totaled 40 kills, averaging 4.44 per set, on a .397 hitting percentage over the weekend.   She recorded her fifth 20-kill effort of the season and just missed the double-double with 22 kills and nine digs in the 3-1 win over Daemen on Friday.  Less than 15 hours later, she posted her 15th double-digit kill performance with 18 on a .412 hitting percentage in the five-set thriller versus Roberts Wesleyan.  She leads the conference in both kills (295) and kills per set (4.54) on the season.

The award is White's fourth recognition of the season and Gebhardt's first.

Head Coach Kelly Wengerter and the Mavericks (8-9, 1-5) will head to ECC rival the University of Bridgeport (6-2, 5-1) on Friday, Oct. 18.
