Bailey Career-High Double-Double Leads Men's Basketball Versus Holy Family
Box Score DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Nov. 26, 2013) – Senior Kirk Bailey (Freeport, N.Y. / St. Mary's) had a career day, posting a double-double with 16 points and 15 rebounds, as the Mercy College men's basketball hosted Holy Family University on Tuesday night.
The Tigers came away with the 94-74 victory to move above .500 at 4-3 on the season, while the Mavericks are now 0-4.
Holy Family jumped out to a 7-0 lead over the first three minutes and never surrendered it. The Mavericks went down by double digits before cutting the deficit back to four points at 34-30 heading into halftime. The Tigers built their lead back up through the second half to lead by as much as 28 before closing out the 20-point win.
Bailey set a new career high with his 15 rebounds while his 16 points led the team. Sophomore Daniel Pierrot (New York, N.Y. / St. Anthony's) and freshman Jerry Crismond (Somerdale, N.J. / Sterling) each scored 10 points in limited minutes, with Crismond's all coming over just the final four minutes of the game.
Head Coach Adam Parmenter and the Mavericks will open East Coast Conference play as they host St. Thomas Aquinas College (4-1 overall, 1-0 ECC) on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 2:30 p.m. following the women's game.
