Salomone Scores 11 as Women's Basketball Faces Roberts Wesleyan
Box Score ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Jan. 24, 2014)- Freshman Maggie Salomone (Narragansett, R.I. / Narragansett) scored a team-high 11 points, as the Mercy College women's basketball team fell to the Redhawks of Roberts Wesleyan College. The Mavericks fall to 2-13 overall, 1-9 in the East Coast Conference, while the Redhawks improve to 7-8 overall and 3-6 in the ECC.
For Mercy, senior Pam Sosa (New York, N.Y. / James Baldwin) finished with nine points, and six rebounds, while senior Alexis Monserrate (Locust Valley, N.Y. / Locust Valley) came off the bench to score eight points and grab three rebounds. Junior Tanayzha Augustine (Poughkeepsie, N.Y. / Poughkeepsie) fell short of another 10 rebound game, as she grabbed nine boards.
Head Coach Rashidi Aikens and the Mavericks complete the western New York trip, as they travel to Amherst, N.Y. to face the Wildcats of Daemen College at 1:00 p.m.
