Kelly Makes 13 Saves, as Field Hockey Faces Bentley

WALTHAM, Mass. (Oct. 5, 2014)- Freshman Olivia Kelly (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip) made 13 saves as the Mercy College field hockey team faced the Falcons of Bentley University on Sunday afternoon.

The Falcons improve to 5-3 with the 5-0 victory, while the Mavericks fall 0-9.

The Falcons scored two unanswered goals in the first half to take a 2-0 lead.

Mercy took one shot in the first half, as senior Giana Magosin (Pleasantville, N.J. /Egg Harbor Township) had her shot blocked off a penalty corner taken by sophomore Jackie Ballin (Cupertino, Calif./Cupertino)

Bentley led 2-0 at the half.

In the second half, the Falcons scored three insurance goals to secure the win.

For Mercy, senior Danielle Jones (Shrewsbury, Mass./ Shrewsbury) made a defender save.

Head Coach Kayte Kinsley and the Mavericks return to action on Wednesday Oct. 8, as they host the Owls of Southern Connecticut State University at 4:00 p.m.
