Field Hockey Faces Southern Connecticut State
Box Score DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Oct. 8, 2014) - The Mercy College field hockey team took on the Owls of Southern Connecticut State University on Wednesday afternoon.
The Owls improve to 2-6 with the 1-0 victory, while the Mavericks fall to 0-10.
The Owls scored the game-winner in the 69th minute.
For Mercy, senior Marissa Kluber (Wading River, N.Y. / Shoreham-Wading River), sophomore Jackie Ballin (Cupertino, Calif. / Cupertino), and freshman Geraldine Grandprez (Wanze, Belgium /IHECS Bruxelles) all took three shots. The Mavericks outshot the Owls, 12-8. Freshman Olivia Kelly (West Islip, N.Y. / West Islip) made three saves in 70 minutes of work.
Head Coach Kayte Kinsley and the Mavericks return to action on Saturday Oct. 11, as they travel to Rindge, N.H. to take on the Ravens of Franklin Pierce University at 1:00 p.m.
