BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (Feb. 8, 2014) – Senior Olajide Keshinro (Brooklyn, N.Y. / SUNY Cobleskill) led the Mercy College men's basketball team with 13 points and six rebounds as a season-high 12 Mavericks scored at the University of Bridgeport on Saturday afternoon.
The Purple Knights took an early lead and extended it throughout, ultimately defending their home court with a 98-58 victory to improve to 11-9 overall and 9-5 in the East Coast Conference. Mercy is now 2-19 (2-13).
Keshinro's 13 points marked his 10th double-figure game of the season while he added four blocks, an assist and two steals. Junior Jordan Lessane (Mount Vernon, N.Y. / Mount Vernon) dished out five assists without committing a single turnover coming off the bench while senior Chaz Morrish (Douglaston, N.Y. / St. Mary's) and sophomore Nate Stitchell (Coventry, R.I. / Coventry) combined to go 5-of-12 from beyond the arc and dish out five assists.
Head Coach Adam Parmenter and the Mavericks will head to Molloy College (12-10, 9-5) on Wednesday, Feb. 12.
