Wood, Glueckert Rank Top 5 in Division II Men's Lacrosse Statistics

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Mar. 4, 2014) – Junior Jesse Wood (Binghamton, N.Y. / Seton Catholic Central) and graduate student Kevin Glueckert (Bethpage, N.Y. / Univ. at Albany) rank among the Top 5 in the nation in multiple statistical categories, according to the first release of the NCAA statistical rankings today.

NCAA Rankings

Wood is tied for second in the nation in points per game (6.00) and ranks third in goals per game (4.00) and fifth in shot percentage (.706).  Glueckert is ranked fifth in face-off winning percentage (.727).

As a team, Mercy ranks second in face-off winning percentage (.704), ground balls per game (42.67) and caused turnovers (13.00) and boasts he eighth-ranked scoring offense (14.00).

The Mavericks (2-1) stayed in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division II Coaches' Poll after matching No. 4 LIU Post through the first half before ultimately falling, 14-7, on Saturday.

Head Coach Jordan Levine will lead Wood, Glueckert and the rest of the Mavericks as they host American International College (0-2) today at 3:00 p.m.
