Kelly Makes Nine Saves as Field Hockey Hosts American International

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Sept. 20, 2014) – Freshman Olivia Kelly (West Islip, N.Y. / West Islip) made nine saves over 70 minutes as the Mercy College field hockey team hosted American International College on Saturday afternoon.

The Yellow Jackets scored two goals to come away with the 2-0 victory. AIC improves to 3-2, while the Mavericks fall to 0-4.

For Mercy, sophomore Jackie Ballin (Cupertino, Calif. / Cupertino) took a team-high six shots, while junior Maggie Gardner (Mohawk, N.Y. / Mohawk) took four. Senior Giana Magosin (Pleasantville, N.J. / Egg Harbor Township), sophomore Emily Michaels (Patchogue, N.Y. / Patchogue-Medford) and freshman Kimberly Sands (Bethel, Conn. / Immaculate) all recorded one shot, while senior Marie Roser (Port Ewen, N.Y. / Kingston) made a defensive save.

Head Coach Kayte Kinsley and the Mavericks return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 24, as they travel to Garden City, N.Y. to face the Panthers of Adelphi University at 7:00 p.m.
