Scouting the Mavericks
Senior Jackie Couillard will be the Mavericks leader this season behind the plate. Coulliard hit .416 with 36 RBI's and seven home runs in 2014. Sophomores Julie Gross and Janelle Wade will look to improve on the numbers posted last season. Gross hit .378 with 23 RBI's and 16 runs scored, while Wade made 44 starts and scored 25 runs. Senior Michelle Duford returns for her senior campaign, as the British Columbia native hit .258 with 10 RBI's. Sophomore Anna Cochis will look to continue on her strong freshman campaign, as she led the team in ERA a season ago.
Scouting the Yellow Jackets
The Yellow Jackets have started off the season at 0-4, with losses to MSU-Mankato (3-1), STAC (7-5) and Saint Leo (9-2, 0-8). Lauren Tosi has posted a .444 batting average with four hits, four total bases and one run scored. Kristen Steele has posted a .300 batting average with three hits and three total bases, while Yami Lopez-Perez has posted a .250 batting average with three hits, two RBI's, one run scored and one double. Alyssa Camargo and Jillian Bedard have been the only two pitchers of record. Camargo has a 3.94 ERA in two losses with six strikeouts, while Bedard has a 5.42 ERA in two losses with three strikeouts.
Scouting the Falcons
The Falcons have been in every single game they have played at the National Training Center. The last two were extra inning losses to Northern St. (8-7) and Ferris St. (5-4) on Mar. 11th. Senior Shannon Connor has posted a .364 batting average with eight hits, five RBI's, three runs scored and a stolen base. Sophomore Kelsey Kennedy has posted a .263 batting average with six runs scored, five RBI's, two stolen bases, one double and one triple. Kelly Ferris has pitched the most innings for the Falcons so far. Ferris has recorded a 3.00 ERA with 24 strikeouts in 25.2 innings pitched.
