Baseball Continues ECC Slate Against STAC This Weekend
Box Score DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Mar. 27, 2015) - The Mercy College baseball team continues its East Coast Conference slate as they will face the defending ECC champion Spartans of Saint Thomas Aquinas College in a four game series beginning Friday.

Scouting the Mavericks
The Mavericks took one in the four game series with the Pioneers of LIU Post this past weekend. Mercy won game one of Sunday's doubleheader,13-1, before falling in game two, 5-4, on a late home run. Bryan Torres went 3-for-5 with four RBI's and two runs scored, while Justin Palladino went 4-for-5 with two RBI's as the Mavericks posted a eight run inning in the victory. Matt Nalbone struck out 13 batters with only one earned run in 8.0 innings pitched to record his first victory of the season. That performance earned him ECC Co-Pitcher of the Week honors on Monday.
Scouting the Spartans
The two-time defending ECC champion and national semifinalist will reload in 2015. STAC was slotted first in the preseason coaches' poll and returns current ECC preseason player of the year in Stanley Susana. Susana currently leads the team in batting average at .426 with 20 hits, 11 RBI's and 11 runs scored in his first 12 games. Giovanni Dingcong is the current team leader in RBI's at 14 and boasts a .385 batting average with 20 hits. Joseph Pena is the only other player that fly's above the .350 mark. Pena has a .373 batting average with 19 hits in 13 games. Nick May leads the pitching staff in strikeouts with 17 and ERA at 2.81, while posting a 1-1 record in two starts.
