ORANGETOWN, N.Y. (Mar. 29, 2015) - The Mercy College softball team will face the Chargers of Dominican College on Monday.

Scouting the Mavericks

The Mavericks dropped two games to the Knights of Queens College in Flushing on Sunday. Morgan Lloyd went 2-for-3 with a two home run in Mercy 4-3 game one loss. Lloyd is the only Maverick with a homerun this season and currently leads the Mavericks in batting average (.357), slugging percentage (.476), hits (15) and RBI's (5). Marlena Marzigliano and Janelle Wade have both posted a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage. Taylor Holmes has a team leading 1.85 ERA with a 1-1 record, while Holly Pundick is the team leader in strikeouts with 10.

Scouting the Chargers

The Chargers have won six out of the last eight games, entering Monday non-conference contest with the Mavericks. Dominican has spilt the last two CACC doubleheader against Post University (L, 5-2/ W, 4-3) and University of Sciences (L, 5-2/ W, 5-2). Freshman Jillian Regan leads the Chargers in batting average (.354), slugging percentage (.554), hits (23), RBI (15), doubles (7) and homeruns (2).  Regan went 4-for-7 with an RBI's against Post University and 5-for-8 with four RBI's, two homeruns, and two run scored against ECC opponent Dowling College on March 19th. Junior Shannon Haukap ranks second on the team in batting average (.311), slugging percentage (.508) and hits (19). She leads the team in triples with three. Haukap went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a triple, a run scored and an RBI in the 4-3 victory over Post University on March 27th. Freshmen Jenna Maska and Madison Dove have combined for 95.2 innings pitched and 37 strikeouts with a 7-6 record.
