Box Score 2 CLERMONT, Fla. (Mar. 9, 2015)- The Mercy College softball team continues its stay in Sunny Florida, as they will face the Warriors of East Stroudsburg University out of the PSAC at 9:00 a.m., before squaring off with the Skyhawks from Stonehill College out of the NE-10 at 11:00 a.m.

Scouting the Mavericks
Senior Jackie Couillard will be the Mavericks leader this season behind the plate. Coulliard hit .416 with 36 RBI's and seven home runs in 2014. Sophomores Julie Gross and Janelle Wade will look to improve on the numbers posted last season. Gross hit .378 with 23 RBI's and 16 runs scored, while Wade made 44 starts and scored 25 runs. Senior Michelle Duford returns for her senior campaign, as the British Columbia native hit .258 with 10 RBI's. Sophomore Anna Cochis will look to continue on her strong freshman campaign, as she led the team in ERA a season ago.
Scouting the Warriors
The Warriors return seven offensive starters, including six with upperclassmen experience. Senior Cara McNeil was an All-PSAC selection and led the Warriors in batting avg. (.328), on-base percentage (.369), slugging percentage (.466) and RBI's (29), while making 110 career starts in a Warriors uniform. Junior Allison Mende and sophomore Rachael Liguori both earned all-conference honors last season. Mende went 4-4 with 4.33 ERA in 55.0 innings pitched, while Liguori earns the top spot in the rotation after the departure of Laura Suits. Liguori had 87 strikeouts and a posted a 3.60 ERA in 116.2 innings pitched.
Scouting the Skyhawks
The Skyhawks were picked to finish fourth in NE-10 Northeast Division pre-season poll. Stonehill welcomes back four all-conference players. Megan Ruonavaara was named to the first team, after posting a .342 ERA with seven homeruns and 29 RBI's. Fellow classmates Megan Staudle and Alison Sumski landed on the all-conference second team, while freshman Michelle Carbone earned third team and rookie team accolades.
