Softball Plays Back-To-Back ECC Doubleheaders This Weekend
Box Score DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Apr. 17, 2015) - The Mercy College softball team will play back-to-back doubleheaders against East Coast Conference competition this weekend. The Mavericks will finish series with the Lions of Molloy in Rockville Centre on Saturday and host the Golden Lions of Dowling College for senior day this Sunday.

Scouting the Mavericks
Jackie Couillard and Marlena Marzigliano both smacked a double for the Mavericks in the 6-0 loss to the Lions of Molloy College on Apr. 17th. Jackie Kielty and Anna Cochis both struck out two batters with Kielty taking the loss. Couillard, Morgan Lloyd and Melanie Palmieri are the only Mavericks hitting above the .300 mark. Couillard has 47 hits, 23 RBI's, 19 runs scored and eight doubles, while Lloyd has 35 hits, 12 RBI's, 11 runs scored and five doubles. Cochis still holds the team lead in ERA at 2.24 and strikeouts with 40.
Scouting the Lions
The Lions took the second game of a rain shorten doubleheader that was originally played two weeks ago. Ashley Fedor homered in the first inning and Molloy never looked back in the 6-0 victory on Apr. 17th Tracy Balinskas leads the team in batting average (.423), slugging percentage (.715), hits (55), and doubles (16). Balinskas has a 10-8 record with 94 strikeouts, 12 complete games, and four shutouts in 116.0 innings pitched. Fedor has a .364 batting average with 43 hits, 23 RBI's and 26 runs scored. Chelsea Hawks has a 3.31 ERA with a 9-7 record in 103.2 innings pitched and 10 complete games.
Scouting the Golden Lions
Dowling has lost their last eight East Coast Conference games, including being swept by Molloy, LIU Post and STAC just last week alone. Arianna La Puma has a team leading .391 batting average with 43 hits, 21 RBI's, 16 doubles, three homeruns, and three triples. Crystal Tarango has a .308 batting average with 32 hits, 19 runs scored, 15 RBI's, 10 doubles and five homeruns. Alisa Fjelstead has 15 strikeouts and a 3.62 ERA in 48.1 innings pitched.
