Slattery and Hagan Both Record Two Hits as Baseball Faces ESU in Keystone State
Box Score EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. (Apr. 22, 2015)- Junior Scott Hagan (Mamaroneck, N.Y. / SUNY Binghamton) and freshman Liam Slattery (Floral Park, N.Y. / Archbishop Molloy) both recorded two hits as the Mercy College baseball team dropped a non-conference contest to the Warriors of East Stroudsburg University, 11-0, on Wednesday afternoon.
Conner Crookham went 3-for-5 with three RBI's and two runs scored for the Warriors who improve to 25-16 overall. Slattery went 2-for-3, while Hagan went 2-for-4 for the Mavericks who fall to 9-24 overall.
Crookham homered twice as the Warriors scored 11 runs on 15 hits, including a seven-run bottom of the sixth.
Freshman Nick Daley (Glenwood Landing, N.Y. / North Shore) went 1-for-2 with a walk. Freshman Anthony Caminiti (Wantagh, N.Y. / St. Mary's) pitched 3.2 innings and took the loss. Sophomore Marc Medico (Eastchester, N.Y. / Eastchester) and freshman Manny Velasquez (Bronx, N.Y. / Cardinal Hayes) both saw action on the hill as well.
Head Coach Jason Lamando and the Mavericks will return to action on Friday, Apr. 24th, hosting the Lions of Molloy College in a series opening doubleheader at 1:00 p.m.
