Lacerda Tabbed ECAC Division II Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week
Box Score DANBURY, Conn. (Sept. 15, 2015) – Mercy College men's soccer freshman Lucca Lacerda (Passos, Brazil/Monroe College) has been named the Corvias Eastern Conference Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division II Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week for the week ending Sept. 13.

Lacerda continued his strong start to his collegiate career, finishing with a pair of goals and an assist on the week on six shots on goal as the Mavericks went 1-1. After finishing with a team-high two shots on goal at American International on Wednesday, the midfielder starred in Mercy's 4-1 win over Caldwell on Saturday, ending the contest with two impressive goals, including the game-winner, while assisting on another goal. Lacerda finished off the week with a team-high five points on the week.
This is Lacerda's second award of the season and the fourth earned by the Mavericks this season.
Head Coach Chris Smith and the Mavericks will head to Bridgeport on Saturday, September 19th for a conference tilt at 6 p.m.
