NEWBERRY, S.C. The Mavericks (7-12) drop all three meetings this season to the Lions (15-3) who will play No. 3 seed Limestone College in the championship game on Sunday, November 6th at 1 p.m. Mercy will face No. 2 seed Bellarmine University in the consolation game on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. at Newberry College.

Mercy faced a tough challenge in taking on a Lions squad that had won six games in a row coming into the contest. However, Pettit was up to the challenge early on as she made three saves in the first 32 minutes of action to keep the game scoreless.

After a shot by Karlie Quinn hit the post, Robben recorded the first goal of the game in the 33rd minute when she took a ball in the circle and finished on the right side to put the Lions up 1-0. Pettit made a save as time expired following a penalty corner to keep the score at 1-0 as the two teams headed into halftime.

The second half saw Pettit make two more stops before Williams fired her shot second on goal of the night in the 38th minute. Lindenwood added onto their lead in the 41st minute when Robben put away another to give the Lions a 2-0 advantage.

Lindenwood continued to apply pressure and tallied another goal in the 50th minute to secure the win as Noor Fons sent a cross into the box that was deflected into the right corner by Easley to make it 3-0. The Lions outshot the Mavericks 11-1 in the second half with Pettit making seven saves in the half.

Lindenwood ended the night with a 19-5 edge in shots and a 14-6 advantage in penalty corners.
